We Ain’t The People Collection is inspired by the hope of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution that gave black men limited rights. The term we, is a collective noun that suggests an entire group. Contradictingly, in its inception,“We the People”only referred to an exclusive country club. Although people of color were excluded from the inception, the backbone of this country was built on their sufferings. So when we say “We Ain’t The People,” we mean we denounce any oppressive ideologies, actions, and mindsets.
